Galatians 6:5
"For we are each responsible for our own conduct."
We learned how to do something very horrible when we were kids. It probably first happened when you cognitively realized that you were going to get into trouble and did not want to receive the punishment due. I remember when my son had written his name on the side of the house and when it was revealed to him his response was, "It wasn't me! Someone else must have done it." Blame. It is the first thing Adam and Eve did in the garden. "But, Lord, it was this woman's fault!" "But, God, it was the serpent's fault."
We learned to blame and we have a really hard time stopping. It's his fault, it's her fault, it's my parent's fault, it's societies fault, it's God's fault. The one person we can actually control, the one person that we can be fully responsible for, is the last person we want to recognize is at fault. Ultimately it is you and you alone; me and me alone; standing before judgement with all the facts presented against us. Blame will be an option... but, it will be ineffective. It's time to start practicing the option of accepting responsibility. Take a look at where you are right now in your life. Are you carrying the root of blame in your heart? Does it help you? Let it go and accept responsibility for your piece. Accept responsibility for your peace.
