Ephesians 4: 14
so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Peter Marshall said, "When you don't stand for something you will fall for everything." Understanding who we are, what our purpose is, and what we are willing to stand for is imperative in anyone's life. It is elements of this that provide hope in the middle of troubled times and comfort in loss. But, there are many people today that are tossed to and fro by the waves of influence and emotion. Just take a look at our media and the way people respond. When you know what is important to you then you don't get caught up in the trivial "atrocities" that the media hypes up for us. It's really easy to see someone who is living standing rather than someone who is just floating... just check out their facebook feed. What have they shared? Is it the same stuff that the rest of the world is talking about at that moment or is it something they are truly passionate about? Don't get caught up in all of that. Don't allow other people to cunningly deceive you into what you spend your life thinking about and worrying about. Stand for something today.
