Mark 6:37
But he answered, "You give them something to eat."
They said to him, "That would take more than half a year's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?"

My wife is an amazing woman. I definitely married up and I'm really blessed that she even puts up with my shenanigans. When we got married she started to keep a journal of the things that God has done, like seriously miraculous events down to the everyday things that we don't normally give credit for. It's an amazing testimony to the goodness of God in our lives and a reminder that, God will provide. We all need those reminders. The disciples needed this reminder!
In this passage Jesus and the disciples are headed up a mountain to get away from the crowd for a bit but, the people keep right on following them. Over 5,000 of them! It's dinner time, and the crowd didn't come prepared with food to eat, so Jesus tells the disciples to feed them. It is amazing to me that after seeing Jesus perform hundreds of miracles so far during their time with him, the disciples didn't immediately say, "Lord, we trust that You can provide for all these people!" Instead, they went on a food search and frantically tried to solve this problem by themselves. In fact, in John's account of the same event he says that Jesus did this, "to test them."

How many times does God put us in situations in order to show how good He is through us and in our lives but, instead of letting Him work, we try to take over and control it? Remember. How often do we live in a gap of memory that fails to realize that God has provided, is providing, and will provide? Remember. How often do we get stressed out over the seemingly impossible because we try to tackle it with our own power? Remember.

Remember what God has done for you.
